 The fitness suite at one of Sheffield’s leading leisure centre’s is set to undergo a major transformation. The gym at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, on Penistone Road, is being refurbished with the very latest Technogym technology.
Additional equipment designed for disabled customers, a state-of-the-art Kinesis Wall and Powerplate machine (offering vibration training) will spearhead the redevelopment at the Sheffield International Venues’ (SIV) managed facility.
The investment in the fitness suite at Hillsborough, which has been voted UK Leisure Centre of the Year for the last three years by Fitness Industry Association (FIA) FLAME Awards, is further evidence of SIV's continued commitment to providing quality facilities for all, and follows on on from similar programmes at Ponds Forge and Don Valley Stadium.Richard Apps, general manager at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, said: “As a centre we are constantly looking to improve and we are expanding the fitness suite facilities so that we can continue to offer our members the best service, customer experience and value for money.”
The upgrade to the fitness suite will see the gym area closed for four days between Monday 7 and Thursday 10 April. Fitness classes and all other facilities within the centre will run as usual during the refurbishment. During this time the group fitness timetable will operate as normal and additional classes have been put on also Fitness Unlimited venues at Ponds Forge, Don Valley Stadium and Concord can all be used by members.
