Bucaneering Bonanza at Hillsborough Leisure Centre
There is a new pirate in town and he goes by the name of Capt. Redbeard ' The Merciless;
Hillsborough Leisure Centre celebrated the arrival of the latest edition to their pirate family with a three day swashbuckling showcase at the venues leisure pool between Friday 4th - Sunday 6th April 2008.
Pirate sword fights, games, puzzles and competitions were amongst the highlights on offer throughout the weekend along with a chance for budding pirates to meet the centres much loved mascot 'Captain Mad Dog' and the new arrival - the villanous Redbeard.
Natalie Briggs, Events Manager at Hillsborough Leisure Centre said: 'We are all excited by the arrival of captain Redbeard, he adds a new dimension to the centre and his encounters with Mad Dog are sure to be entertaining and enjoyable.
With the evil pirate now onboard the crew, the award winning leisure centre has moved quickly to launch 'Captain Mad Dog's Treasure Hunts' and enthralling adventure ideal for school day visits that help promote key skills and personal development. The first in the series of adventures is entitled 'The Legend of Redbeards Gold'
