Hillsborough Leisure Centre has appointed a new operations manager.

Andy McGrath, aged 38 from Norton Lees, is a familiar face to the Sheffield International Venues (SIV) facility.

He joins the team from Ponds Forge International Sports Centre and before that English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EISS), which are also part of the 14-strong SIV portfolio of venues in Sheffield.

Andy will be responsible for overseeing general operations of the facility which includes a sports hall, gym and leisure and teaching pools.

Andy said: “It’s great to be working at another SIV facility. I’ve helped develop Ponds Forge and EISS over the past 17 years to be some of the best sports facilities in Sheffield which I’m really proud of.

“Hillsborough is a fantastic venue which welcomes thousands of families a year but I’m sure more can be achieved and hopefully I can help drive Hillsborough even further forward.”
