School Sports Partnerships
School Sports Partnerships are clusters of secondary schools and their feeder primary schools, working together to raise standards in PE and school sport. Each School Sport Partnership has a Partnership Development Manager, and each secondary school is allocated a School Sport Co-ordinator. In turn, each primary school in the cluster has a Primary Link Teacher. The School Sports Partnership provides a hub for strategic planning and the delivery of sport within local schools, and also works with the local community and clubs to ensure that young people have the means to access life long participation beyond the school environment.

Schools and Colleges
Hillsborough Leisure Centre is part of the community with schools and colleges in close proximity. We support the colleges and schools with providing facilities for exercise, examinations and events. We also provide school sports days for many of the local schools.

Intsituute of Swimming
The Institute of Swimming's (IoS) education arm is the largest trainer of swimming teachers and coaches in England and the premier provider of the ASA's courses. They are at the cutting edge of teacher and coach education, from running the latest UKCC courses through to providing continuing professional development opportunities. They hold some courses at the centre and help train our swimming teachers. IFI
The Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) is a programme that supports the fitness industry to become more inclusive, catering for the needs of disabled and non-disabled people alike. Hillsborough Leisure Centre is IFI accredited. The IFI Mark has huge relevance to both disabled and non-disabled customers in demonstrating that facilities have considered their needs. Quest is the UK Quality Scheme for Sport and Leisure. Quest is a tool for continuous improvement, designed primarily for the management of leisure facilities and leisure development. Quest defines industry standards and good practice and encourages their ongoing development and delivery within a customer focused management framework. ASA
The ASA (formerly known as the Amateur Swimming Association) has been in existence since 1869. Although the ASA has a long history, it has moved on considerably since its foundation and is now a vibrant modern governing body providing leadership to the industry of swimming many ways.

Swim 21 is the ASA's Club Development model - a planning tool, based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development, enabling clubs to help athletes, teachers, coaches and administrators to achieve their full potential. It focuses particularly on the needs of athletes - striving to provide them with the best possible support and environment.

The ASA operates a Learn to Swim award scheme based on the National Plan for Teaching Swimming, a programme the ASA has developed to take children through from their first splash to full competence in the water this scheme is in effect at Hillsborough Leisure Centre www.swimming.org/asa

REPS
The Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) has been set up to help safeguard and to promote the health and interests of people who are using the services. All gym staff at Hillsborough have to be member of REPS. www.exerciseregister.org

Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers is an international company that offers, various dieting products and services to assist weight loss and maintenance. Playing for success
Playing for Success (PfS) is a partnership between the Department for Education (DfE), local authorities and a broad range of sports. Partners include clubs and the Premier League and Football Leagues, Rugby League and Union, cricket, basketball, hockey, ice hockey, gymnastics and tennis. In all, 19 different sports are represented in PfS. Count Me in
The Extended Services Subsidy, known in Sheffield as Count me in!, is part of the Government's commitment to extended services in and around schools. The funding is designed to subsidise access to extended services activities for economically disadvantaged children and young people and children in care. In doing so, the subsidy aims to improve well-being, raise attainment and narrow the attainment gap. City of Sheffield Swim Squad
The City of Sheffield Swim Squad is the competitive outlet for the Sheffield City Council Swim Training Scheme. We have fantastic support from the council, who not only provide us with top level and fully qualified coaches, but also provide a comprehensive swimming pathway via the Swimming Development team. SNIPS
The Special Needs Inclusion Playcare Service (SNIPS) provides opportunities for parent/carers of Children and Young people with special needs and disabilities to take short respite breaks from caring, knowing that their child/children will be in a safe, supportive play environment.

Hillsborough Leisure Centre works with many areas of the NHS from being a venue for meetings and consulations including Smoking Sessation groups to physical activity such as gym use and sports. Hillsborough is also a venue for the National Blood Service on a regular basis. www.nhs.uk
